Until today, I had never received a blog award. I'd seen them around (and secretly wondered how you received them), but in a space of an hour this afternoon, I received not one, but two.
Tickle me Elmo and blow me away with a feather... I'm feeling incredibly, ummm, stylish.
Girls, you have made my week! And your timing was perfect. I've been swamped by work deadlines the past few weeks and am about to finish my last one before Christmas. I'm so close to finishing, I can taste it. It's been kinda stressful at our place.
First of all I'm honoured. A million thank yous. And more about these sweet girls...?
- Keep Cate Busy: Well, Cate. She's busy. In between juggling her three little ladies, she blogs every day. She's looking for the meaningful things and finds them (and tells us about it). I love that. (And she also gives failproof recipes ideas for Christmas - how easy did Christmas just get for you, right then?)
- Naturally Carol: Carol, she's funny. And today, she was going to tell us about the mating of native doves, but received her stylish award instead. (I can see a few of you giving a sigh right there, hey?). But seriously, she makes the most amazing things. Why just last night I was telling her how amazing this cute apron was. And her patchwork. To die for. Seriously, I want to sew like this.
I confess I don't know if it's protocol to accept the same award from two different people (but there wasn't any small print about this). So I'm going to accept both. I'm not greedy. At. All.
But in my moment of greed, I'd like to let you all know that these blogs are just lovely, and I know you want to visit them.
To accept this award, I:
- Thank and link back to the person (or in my case, persons) who gave you this award.
- Share seven things about yourself.
- Pay it forward to 15 recently discovered great bloggers.
- Contact those bloggers and tell them about the award.
So, this is me: *Hi!* What on earth would you find interesting...? Let me think. This is
really hard...

- I can't sew. When we first starting going out, my husband had never met a woman who didn't own a sewing machine. I still don't. But how I admire those who do/can sew (that's you Carol, and you Cate - even if it is 50s pinnies!)
- I'm from South Australia. Born in Port Lincoln, actually. Then raised by dingoes in the Northern Territory. Okay, that bit isn't true, but I did live in Alice Springs and Darwin for all of my childhood. And I have the best memories there.
- I have a problem with Big Australian Icons. You know... The Big Apple, The Big Banana, The Big Lobster, The Big Orange, The Big Pineapple, The Big Merino. You know. Stupid, man made concrete/foam things. They're just scary. And it doesn't make me want to visit them. At all.
- I suffer from OCD. Just a tad. My husband is always complaining because I'm putting things away - while he's still using them.
- I think I also have Attention Deficit Disorder. I can't sit and just watch a movie or just do one thing at a time. Either that, or I'm the Queen of Multitasking (hmm, perhaps I should have used this as point 5's title, much more fancy). I have to be doing, at the same time: a) folding washing, b) reading a book c) blogging d) sending messages on my phone e) crafts with my kids f) cooking something.
- A sense of achievement keeps me going. While this could be closely associated to the last point, my husband is telling me (at this moment!) that my sense of achievement is a good thing. (Yes, I'm asking for help. This is really, really hard!)
- I don't like coffee. Yet, I own a coffee machine, say I'm going out for 'coffee', meet friends for 'coffee'. Yet never, ever have coffee. Soy Chai Latte is my thing. Yummy.
Phew, now
that is over, I can now tell you about 15 of my recent fabulous 'blogscoveries' (yes, I just made that up - pop it into your blog vocabulary). I've tried hard to focus on those who are newish out there (and yes, I will send something special to these lovely bloggers as soon as I post this):
- Acute Designs
- Adventures of a pastor's wife
- And Inx makes six
- A fairytale with dogtags
- Battens
- Blocks and knocks
- Down to girth
- Live, love, me
- Loving Whispers
- Messy Freckle
- More than a mummy
- Random Thoughts: pay attention there will be a quiz later
- The Clip Cafe
- The Runaway Romantique
- This growing life
So thank you thank you. (And aren't you grateful that my acceptance speech didn't go on and on and on?) Short and sweet. Yep. That's me.
Have a great evening, and thanks for stopping by.
