5 DAYS 5 WAYS [THE WHITE TEE]

So, here it is! The tee that's going to be thrashed to the core this week. Poor thing. I already feel for it's nightly wash, spin dry and hang out, all before it has to do it all over again.

For the next five days.

fancy pants

You know those days where it's not really about dressing up, but more about just throwing something on because you've got to take you (or your kids) to the doctor? Well, that was my exact morning this morning. Not much thought was put into what I threw on before walking out the door.

This is what I wore to walk my two year old to the family surgery down the road. Seems we have a case of conjunctivitis. Oh, what joys! Poor little fella is now sleeping off his yucky eyes, and hopefully those eye drops are working their magic so he has his baby browns back (minus the yellow goo).

And after that medical discovery, aren't you just thrilled to have heard all that?

Turns out this is what I ended up wearing all day, and then to the movies last night too. If you haven't seen "Red Dog", I can't recommend it more highly. Such a great Australian movie. I think I smiled all the way through. Such wonderful heart warming true story (and it reminded me of my life living in an Aboriginal Community in the Western Desert!)

Here is my new bag (isn't it the bomb?) thanks to Lizeylou's fabulous giveaway!

And my cheapie (and ever so comfy) shoes from Rivers.

And how about a style challenge this week?

I've decided that this will be the week of five days = five ways! Yes, I'm starting with something, er, extremely difficult - the white tee. Mainly because it's such a spring/summer staple.

Voila. And so starting tomorrow my white tee is going to get a bit of wear. (And washing too!) Let's see what we can do with it.

Did you have to rush somewhere this weekend, or did you get a chance to dress up? And how about this white tee challenge? Up for it?

Why don't you linky up your Fancy Pants post below (yes, you need to have a photo in an outfit!) and add a link back to me in your post. You can also include the button belowThen pop over to visit other bloggers who are dressing up this week.

this saturday i'm grateful for... nut milk

It's been such a sunshiney week, that it's literally made me happy. Not wanting to work at all, but instead just sit out in the sunshine. It's made me happy (even though I have a crapload of backlog next week). This week I'm grateful for...
  1. Nut milk. I made nut milk today thanks to this gorgeous girl. And as well as a few other culinary delights in the kitchen, I now feel 'at one with Mother Earth'. (Oh, and it tastes really good, earthy even.)
  2. Thanking my maker. Each night my boys are visited by a ghost who spends a lot of time adoring their sleeping faces. Okay, it's really me stalking my children before I go to bed. But still, is there anything better than watching your babies breathing quietly surrounded by their favourite toys (and possibly on the floor), and giving thanks to our maker for them?
  3. I love you's. This week the boys have been a bit sick, and a bit Not Quite Right. That means extra cuddles for mummy and lots of "I love you's". And I love that when they're old enough, they say it first. Fills the cockles of my heart.

giveaways, winning + pretty things

When a parcel arrives in the mail addressed to you, how do you react? Do you open it up like a child who has to open it NOW, or you do you savour the moment and make it wait for the right time?

This afternoon I special delivery arrived at my doorstep, and I didn't want to wait.

Because I knew what was inside.

Pretty things.

Thanks to one of my favourite bloggers, Shh... it's Lizeylou. She had her very first giveaway which I WON (what are the chances?)! I was so thrilled because I'd already peeked at Eb & Ive's Facebook page, which led me to their website, which had me falling in love with their lovely bits.

They say that first impressions are lasting:

And inside:

A linen camel bag, a pretty scarf, a funky BIG ring, a gorgeous necklace, earrings to die for, AND some pretty hair clips.

Did I mention they were pretty already?

And because I'd leaned towards the mad, frantic opening which had to be done straight away (as I oohed and aahed), I transferred all my junk to my new handbag, whipped on the earrings, the necklace, and proceeded to show them off to my neighbour as I raced out the door to the next lot of errands.

And I may or may not show them off a little more on Sunday when we get all Fancy Pants round here.

But I really wanted to say was a BIG thank you to Lizeylou for her awesome giveaway, and to Eb & Ive for making the prettiest things.

Have you ever won a giveaway? Were you chuffed to the core?

WHEN THE FACEPAINT DOESN'T COME OFF.

Face painting is awesome. Especially when you want to be Batman.

With glitter.

And it's a cool concept to want to keep it on for as long as possible. No baths, no face cleaning of any sort.

But it wears thin when it rubs onto your clothes, marks your bed sheets and stains your skin. And on the third day, it really doesn't look like anything like it did when it was first done.

So, how to get it off? With makeup remover, of course (if only that worked). Face cream (nope). Baby oil (now we're talking).

And it doesn't quite come off. And so it looks like you've been wearing Mummy's make up over the weekend.

Poor boy. Not so cool now, huh?

(But it does make me wonder if Batman has the same trouble.)

Have you tried some new this week? It might be as simple as removing face paint, or trying a new recipe (even if it didn't work).

Why don't you join in? All you have to do is follow me, add your Try Something New post below and add a link back to me in your post. You can also include the lovely button (below). Then pop over to visit other bloggers who have done something new this week.
