MY BEDROOM. MY SANCTUARY.

I love this room. Besides the kitchen, this is where I spent most of my time. Of course, it's usually in my favourite state - in the Land of Zzzzs.

I love the buttermilk walls, the pale yellow ceiling, the white ceiling rose, and austrian blinds.

The timber skirtings and window, are just so decadent, and the space is totally uncluttered.

We had carpet laid in the bedrooms, which gave the bedrooms such warmth. While I love floorboards, it just wasn't the same.

And because I just like to lie on the floor, we put in a thicker underlay too. Plus it feels so velvety under our feet.

Friends often giggle that we still sleep in a double bed, but I don't mind at all.

Besides, there's more excuse for a cuddle in a smaller bed!

I love this room.

  1. Oh yes I so get what you are saying...our room is my little sanctuary too away from the hustle and bustle of everyday family life. But I can't wait till our little one moves into a bed of his own. We have co-slept with all our of children, 10 years in total, but are ready to take ownership of our bed again :)

  3. How lovely, I adore the mannequin stand, if only I had room for one. I have blogged about this in the past too, my room is my sanctuary. It is the first thing tidied in the house each morning. I have to walk in the door after the school run and be calmed by my made bed and tidy room. Then I can tackle the rest of the house.

  5. It looks beautiful - I love the pale green accents. My only question is whether your hubby finds it a tad, um, feminine?

I ask only out of jealousy because our room is festooned with techno computer gadgets, chargers, running shoes, not-quite-ready-for-the-hamper clothes draped everywhere, foreign coins (Swiss francs, Euros and GB pence), dust bunnies and - this is my fault - a ginormous treadmill :)

  7. What a sweet post Kymmie. Your sanctuary looks delightful. I love our room too... but sadly, I do miss our room in our old place alot! It was so spacious and bright and just gorgeous. We're a bit crammed in nowadays. Love the idea of lying on the floor of the bedroom, so relaxing... I used to do that in the old place too.

  8. It's so restful, Kymmie (which, of course is perfect for a bedroom!?!) I love the colours. I think my husbie would lose the mannequin from our room, but I love it.

I haven't visited for a week or so due to time commitments. I noticed that you've had a (very mini) makeover and I just wanted to tell you that I love your 'About me' blurb. x
