FANCY PANTS [LAYERING LEFTOVERS]


Leftovers. Like a bunged-together dinner?

Yes... sort of. You see we are in the middle of renovating. The worst part, actually. The bit where you live on top of each other in two small rooms, while the rest of the house is basically unliveable.

Fights? There might have been some.

Need of space? Definitely.


So, when I took the time to pack my boys' bags for a two month renovation intensive, mine was left to the last minute. That meant packing my three newest op-shop purchases, my renovating clothes and blundstone boots. Not much else, so it seems. Did I mention that I'm also completely incapable of packing for future cold weather when the day of packing is sweltering hot?

And on the rare occasion, when I'm not wearing work boots, I'm ferreting through my bag thinking, "Why did I pack that?" And now, I'm layering leftovers.

This is what I ended up with. Not exactly exciting or cutting edge. But it was clean, warm and I had make up on. That always feels nice after feeling dirty, dusty and chalky for most of this week.


So, sunny-side up! Here I am looking presentable, and making do. And I'm happy with that.

 Do you pack your bags better than me? Are you able to remember how it feels to be cold, when you're currently boiling hot?

    I'm in charge of packing for all members of my family, so yes, i often forget to pack for myself and end up with bits that don't go together. I think you did a grand job and look so fresh faced and happy! Have a lovely end to the term sweet girl xx

      Haha! Thanks Brenda. Oh yes, you know how I feel too well. I don't pack for Steve, but think I should sometimes. He's worse than me! We are home in a week, so am writing a list of things I will pack for next time! I'm making do and today came up with a beauty. It might even make FP next week!
