IT'S GOOD TO REMEMBER THE LITTLE THINGS.

So, last week I received this email from a friend:

Hi Kym, I found this today in a pile of papers Alesia had been drawing. I think she is a good candidate for the Kym Piez school of personal organization :-)

I know she isn't related to me (except by awesome friendship), but I was so proud. Alesia had written a 'to-do' list of her evening, making sure she hadn't left anything out. She had even included "Clean YOUR teeth" (probably the exact way her mum says it each night).

On the odd occasion, I might have mentioned that I make lists (here and here). In fact, I write one every day. And because I'm an overachieving neat freak, it helps me to ensure that my days aren't wasted. I'm sure Alesia feels the same way.

Did I mention that I'm so proud? Probably prouder than her mum (who thinks I should start a school of organisation). Which isn't a bad idea when I think about it.

Hmm, perhaps I should add that to my 'to-do' list?

Is there something that you're renown for? Are you teased about it? Do you think it's a good thing to be remembered for, or a bad thing?

  1. kymmie, when you open up that school of organisation, i will be your first enrolled student!! Oh i wish i could be known for my organisational skills. I'm surprised I've not left a child behind at the shops i can be so vague at times!!! Hmmm.....what would i be known for? hmmmm....perhaps my uncanny clumsiness or ability to eat my own body weight in camberet cheese, or wait for it ---- my ability to sniff out a sale!

see you tomoz gorgeous girl xx

  3. i too will enrol in that school...

i am known for my disorganization...being late, forgetful and rather haphazard...hmmm, not much room for overachieving with those traits!

  4. I write lists. I even make fun of myself for the numbers of lists I write. I'm okay with that. It helps keep me on track. Good luck with your school - I'd join!

  5. Oh yes, as a fellow mother of 4, i run our family like a business - my job performance is all about ticking the boxes of dressed/ teeth/ tidy rooms/ shoes - i love lists, live by them. Love Posie

  6. I am pretty organised, but I stress myself out by keeping it all in my head. I wish I took the time to stop and write a list!

  7. I write a list everyday 0.0 scratch out a few things, re-order them, and even add a few last minute things. Its the greatest thing to do!

Plus I just like to write on paper lol :)

  8. I love writing lists! Write them everyday. Don't always get everything done, but I need to write it down or i just won't remember it.

  9. I'm teased for my organisation too - I have lists for everything. I literally can't sleep unless I have my lists up to date; otherwise I'm awake trying to remember everything. Lists clear it all out of my head.

I could be a teacher at your school of organisation. ;)

  11. I'm a list maker and yeap I'm teased for it, oh and for containers. I like to have all the toys in separate containers on the book shelf. One for leggo, one for wooden blocks, one for barbies etc etc. My friends bag the crap out of me, that's me, take it or leave it!

  15. That is priceless. My grandmother recently found some notes that I had jotted down when I was about six or seven, including a song I had written. They were so special to revisit.

  16. This is adorable. Alesia must think you're pretty super.
Sadly, I think I will be known for being the dishwasher stacker nazi. It's my thing. All is not right in the world until all the bowls and plates are in the right spots.
    Happy Easter!! x
