16/52

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.

Noah: Skipping to the beach with your buckets and shovels. You can't wait to build a sandcastle!
Madison: You've got the moves, and are such a natural on a skateboard. And after riding this one, you want one even more (if that's possible)!

Last week I loved this gorgeous sandy face at A Little Pink A Little Blue and I can hear the giggles at Sunny + Scout.

  1. by the time my brother was in his late teens he had a pile of boards, most snapped. They were every single skate board he ever owned. He was somewhat addicted. lol. cute shots.

    1. Oh Mandy, we are putting off purchasing skateboards. He's too young yet! Besides, what will he have to look forward to if we buy one straight away? Also, how many more will he want in future years? The last question was one I put to my husband, and he agreed. Turns out we had a jolly good reason. Thanks for sharing! And yes, the shorts were from Target - Christmas special on the shorts $12!

  2. We have boys who do crazy skate tricks on our street, Jarvis loves watching them and often clapping at their tricks. I am so not keen on Jarvis getting a board, Justin tells me to stop being over-protective. When do you think are your boys old enough for them?

    1. Oh, I have no idea how old they should be. I can see advantages for getting one early (they have less severe falls and get use to it quicker) and disadvantages (over-confidence, showing off, leading out among his peers in things that perhaps he shouldn't be leading out in). Madison is seven years old next month, and has been asking for a skateboard since he was five. We might try to hold out until next year when he turns out. All the best as you work out what works for you and your boys. I feel your pain (and am so lucky that my husband and I agree on this matter!)

    1. Oh Brenda, that boy is so perservering! He asks several times a day - it's exhausting! What he WILL be getting for his birthday in May is a new bike, and Noah a new scooter. Noah will also inherit Madison's old bike so he can learn to ride on two wheels.

And those eyes. Good grief, I could adore them all day. I'm sure you feel the same. You have some big brown eyes going on in your gene pool too! x
