IN THE MIDST OF IT ALL...

... we are still smiling.

Just.

The renovating is making life quite tricky - we're now living in one room and on top of each other. There is dust (lots of it), visitors too (which is divine). And there is the need to get the kids out of the house. They're going a little stir crazy. So is my husband. So am I.

It must be the end of the school holidays.

This week has included, a quick trip back to Melbourne, lots of quick trips down the beach and up the street. There have been backyard kicks of the footy and trips to the library. It's all been essential.

Deadlines. Oh, the deadlines. A kitchen to be installed. A million things to do beforehand. It's exciting. It's daunting.

This has been our week.

| My junior photographer tells me to say Cheese!; post-Easter paraphernalia on the mantelpiece; holding hands as we walk to the beach; sibling fun; Port Fairy scenery; we've discovered footy; building sandcastles; the boardwalk; technology loving Gen Yers - she's more attached to her phone than I am. |

  1. I have no suggestions on how to cope with the dust. Worst part I reckon. In the end it will be wonderful xx

  2. Oh they're beautiful pics Kymmie... and I am so impressed that you're still smiling, reno's are so trying... and yes, the dust is quite horrendous. LOTS of drop sheets over EVERYTHING is my only advice on beating it. It will all be worth it though my friend xo

    1. Ah yes, the memories. I don't want to wish my life away, but can they be memories already? The end result in a blink of an eye would be awesome, yes? But then again, would we appreciate it as much? Bet you can't wait until your house is finished ;)

  4. For the challenges of renovations, guests and sharing a single living space, the photos make it all look utterly beguiling!

    1. Oh kath, I have you under my spell! And yes, not one photograph of the mess we're living in. That will soon come! I promise that it's really been difficult and sometimes the smile is one of those "fake it until you make it". It even works!! Xx

  6. Tamika is 20 and I have come to think of her phone as an extension of her hand. She is never without it. She even goes to the loo and showers with it.
