EAT: ZUCCHINI CAKE WITH LEMON HONEY DRIZZLE

SERVES 10-12 | PREP 15 MINS | COOKING 50 MINS | VEGETARIAN, DAIRY FREE

In a recent bake-a-thon, I thought I'd try this seeing I had zucchinis that had to be eaten. Sometimes the most disgusting sounding recipes turn out quite moist and tasty. Definitely a more heavy cake, but filling and filled with goodness! I dropped the sugar level and it was still sweet enough (mind you, I'm not eating sugar, so anything 'a bit' sweet is really sweet to me!). I love the drizzle on the top. Made this moist cake even more tasty!

FANCY PANTS [WATERMELON TOPS]

Sticking with my no-black policy, I'm relishing in colour. Because after all, isn't that what spring is all about?

The trees budding, the flowers blooming, the grass the brightest green it's ever going to be?

I just want to blend in with that wonderful, beautiful, natural life.

Unfortunately, my birthday suit, doesn't do anyone any favours, so I've had to add the colour instead of being as natural as a bright coloured rose.

It sure does change one's attitude getting out of the black. It puts a smile on one's face. It makes you play with colour and have a bit of fun.

Have you a no-black policy for spring? Are you making a conscious effort to put on lots of colour?

Why don't you linky up your Fancy Pants post below (yes, you need to have a photo in an outfit!) and add a link back to me in your post. You can also include button below. Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are dressing up this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

QUIET TIME. SPACE TO REFLECT.

Something amazing happened this week. I had time to myself.

Without the lads.

It was quiet.

Serene even.

I read a little. Lazed around.

There was even some time to play around with my new camera.

Fiddle with the camera settings...

... and just enjoy the space that was truly mine.

Perhaps I appreciate it more because it rarely happens.

Maybe I'd take it for granted if I had this every day.

I was even super happy to see my lads after their well-earned sleep.

Space is the best therapy. Ever.

EAT: FRUITY POWER BARS.

MAKES 24 | PREP 10 MINS + 2 HRS CHILLING TIME | VEGAN, DAIRY FREE, GLUTEN FREE

When I posted this picture up on Instagram, I didn't think to put it on my blog. But thanks to the requests from Cherie at A Baby Called Max, and Dannii from Loving Whispers, here's the recipe!

Gluten free, dairy free, sugar-free (well, no granulated sugar!), and yet amazingly tasty! The kids love 'em. And so easy too. I'm so in love raw recipes right now. Firstly because they're so much more nutritious, and because they're so easy too!

FANCY PANTS [BOLD COLOUR]

Hello! Look who decided to brave the other side of the camera again?

Spring is here in all its glory and I'm excited! I've been getting out any colour other than black and wearing it with bold courage.

Because it was my birthday recently, I thought I could splurge on a new top or two for spring. Turns out I haven't bought anything since the beginning of autumn. It's been a conscious effort, and I'm so proud of myself. In the meantime, I've been making the most of what I have and mixing it to death.

Before children (and when the cash flow was slightly better), I found myself purchasing clothes more frequently, but ever since we've had the two little lads (and lived in some pretty isolated places), I found that I buy a few things in one shopping sitting, and then don't shop again for ages.

Kind of like my husband when I think about it. He won't buy anything for six months, then purchase all of his winter gear in one hit, and when the weather gets warmer, another hit.

Sometimes I put on an outfit and think to myself how long I've been wearing those items, and still can because they've been timeless. Like the necklace I'm wearing. It's six years old. The cutoffs (that use to be jeans). They're four years old. The sunnies? Seven years old.

One word: smug.

When was the last time you bought some clothes? Do you ebb and flow like me, or trickle your purchases throughout the year?

Why don't you linky up your Fancy Pants post below (yes, you need to have a photo in an outfit!) and add a link back to me in your post. You can also include button below. Then pop over to visit other bloggers who are dressing up this week.
