a day in the life of June

You know those days where everything goes according to plan?

Well, today was not one of those days. I woke up to a 2 year old wimpering by my bed. Apparently he had filled his nappy and then couldn't move for fear it would go everywhere.

And just when I thought that he was being thoughtful, it was already too late.

So, the next hour and a half was spend cleaning the floors/carpets from his bedroom to my bedroom, and then making my house smell like Dettol. On the up side (yes, you know I will find a silver lining in there because I'm your resident Pollyanna), my house is now super clean and smells nice too. And it's only Wednesday. Usually I reserve that sort of cleaning for... er, never. (But Friday is usually my cleaning day.) And if I'm honest, my weekly cleans are not that thorough.

Poo will do that to you.

As a result, I didn't go to the gym. And then tonight the iron died halfway through my massive catch up session. Then again, I did spend some time with one excited girl who drove up to Mt Buller today for the snow season.

Oh, and back to that nappy... warning to all parents: you can give your children too much corn on the cob for dinner.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh Kym, you're too funny! Seems my girls had the same reaction to corn on the cob from Michael and Kate's garden. They just didn't eat as much, but still had a reaction on the continuum as Noah's. Poo contained in nappies though, so a much better outcome for me!

  2. Oh I am so glad I am not the only one cleaning up after a toddler who has uncanny nappy removing capabilities!! At least you can find a silver lining, I tend to find myself thowing my hands in the air in despair and want to banish the child to outdoors until "mess" is cleaned up!!

  3. Oh dear, poor Kymmie, kind of reassuring to read that these things also happen to someone else. My Mr3 stood at the foot of our bed the other day and promptly threw up all over the floor. At 4.30am, it is SO NOT what you want to be dealing with. Poor little guy though :o(
On a brighter note, I love your flats and the scarf is dynamite. Awesome colours in this outfit Kymmie xo

  4. Love your shoes, you are inspiring me not to hide out in my three sets of boots every day of winter.
Have to laugh, my two year old has learnt the joy of corn on the cob just this week. Oh, that fibre!

  7. Oh yes, that has happened many a time in our home. This morning when hubby got up I thought I'd put the little one in bed with me for snuggles...we both drifted back to sleep and I woke up in a WET patch :) This is so not the weather for washing bedding!

The colour of your scarf is beautiful..it matches your persimmons perfectly, and as always you look gorgeous!!

  9. I'm just catching up and firstly want to say - you look amazing in each post!
You poor thing! Don't you just love the poo issues. I do so love that you're so positive and able to find something good, even when faced with such a mess!
Only yesterday my 2 and a half year old, who has been self toilet training, didn't make it to the toilet and managed to poo on the carpet AND the cord for their laptop. It was awesome ;)
