FANCY PANTS [MELBOURNE BLACKS]

Sometimes it's good to go with the city you live in and just wear black. It's a staple, it's the Melbourne uniform. And it's just plain warm and cozy. Oh, and did I mention easy?

And see this scarf? Isn't it gorgeous! Made by the bubbly and extremely talented Brenda over at Mira Narnie who I also had the pleasure to meet in real life last school holidays, and who I get to hang out with again next week (along with the lovely Cate). Complete with kids. It's going to be a wild ride!

I love this scarf and it makes a wonderful head scarf too.

And this ring? Another $3 cheapy from Diva. Seriously, why would you pay full price for dress jewellery when they have $3 sales?

Do you resign to Melbourne Blacks on the odd occasion? Have you had someone make you something that you just love?

  1. i LOVE those boots - i can't wear boots because i have the thickest calves in history :-(

i wear black a lot, probably more than i should. i also do the thing that trinny & sussanah off that UK styling program used to say was a big no no - wearing colour with black. apparently you should wear colour with colour. meh - i roll how i roll!

  4. I wear black a lot, actually I have to consciously make an effort not to wear all black - so I daringly incorporate grey and denim somedays. And I think I've worn my black Trippen boots every day this winter. You can take the girl out of Melbourne, but you can't take Melbourne out of the girl!

  8. Yes yes yes! I LOVE black for all of those reasons also. I am also LOVING your leopard print scarf, it breaks up the black beautifully. Looking goooood Kymmie!
I am so with you on the cheapy Diva/Equip/Lovisa jewellery... when they have SALES, even better! I just stocked up on a whole bunch of junky jewels on Fri. I scored 6 pieces for $20!! Hard to believe, but true. Now I can't wait to wear them all :o) xo

  9. I have a lot of black stuff in my closet it can pass for a witch's wardrobe. It's my default outfit on days when it's just so difficult to choose what to wear. It is safe but also fierce. I love your whole ensemble, from Brenda's scarf to the fabulous boots. I've just done my own Fancy Pants, yey, but I couldn't do the blog hop link. Will try to do it again later. Thanks for all your wonderful comments, Kymmie. Hugs from Manila xx

  10. Black is a staple here as well, but always with a colourful accessory. I've always been a bit scared of leopard print scarf but you make it look easy to wear!

  11. Hi,
I'm a Melbourne girl too and I wear a lot of black too. I love to wear blue jeans and a black top(practically my uniform). For me I guess it's cozy and safe. My inlaws who live in QLD only wear white and light colours....maybe it is the weather???

Love the scarf and your blog.

  16. Oh I'm so glad someone else has gone out and said that wearing black is a Melbourne thing! In Nepal (Land of the colourful Sari), they always wondered why I wore so much black in winter :)
