nerd also nurd (nûrd) n. Slang
A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.

Okay, I admit it.

I'm a Nerd.

I spend countless hours each day on the computer, and I love it. I do it for a living, I get paid to, and I don't even mind. If there's something new on the market, I want it. And I don't know care how long it takes, I'll learn how to use it. And it is a little obvious - I love Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube, and have a blog.

There are those that hate changes in technology, and there are those that embrace it. I'm the latter.

Sometimes I forget I'm a nerd, and I go along in life thinking otherwise. But if I analyse it more closely, I have favourites when it comes to accounting software. The graphic design software I use has a major upgrade, and I get excited. Work updates my laptop, and I can't wait.

Well, today it was time to upgrade my mobile phone as its precedessor died a very quick and painless death on the weekend. Then I realised it was within my budget to upgrade to an iPhone.

You can imagine my delight.

  1. I am married to a nerd and it drives me insane at times!! I am of the "if it aint broke dont fix it" mentality. LOL!! In fact Paul asked if I wanted to upgrade my phone and I declined because I barely know the functions on my current one.

  2. You know that I am jealous. I am an iPhone nerd in waiting. I'll be waiting a long time...

Thanks for Rewinding at the Fibro!

  3. I'm a bit of a late adopter but when I embrace something I do. I'm not that bothered about getting the latest thing - the salesperson was incredulous when I eschewed an iphone4 for an older model. My problem is I don't bother to learn all its functions so I never get to see the real benefits!

  4. Me too! What are you thoughts on the ipad?! I'm going yes, no, yes, no, yeeees :)

  5. I can't even picture you as a nerd, Kymmie. Is loving high-tech stuff really all there is to it? If so, I'm a major nerd too. x

  6. So NOW I know who to come to for tech advice. Woot! ;) x

  7. Found this through Rewind! Love it. And yes, I'm a bit of a nerd myself. Finally got an iPhone 4 a month ago and I am in love! LOL

  8. As a career girl, I was a tech nerd too. Now I'm just a nerd who can never find her brick of a mobile. I think having children has made me allergic to things beeping at me? It sounds too much like someone asking me to do something for them.
    Fun post. :)

  9. A fellow nerd - so pleased to meet you. I am extremely proud of my nerd status. Am beside myself with excitement on the days I am getting a new phone or computer. I shall definitely be back to say Hi again. xx

Thank you for your thoughtful and positive words and taking the time to comment. Love Kymmie. xx
